*In the Embrace of Art and Knowledge: The Dawn of Iran-Oman Collaborations at Sultan Qaboos University*
“Sharq Art” (Oriental Arts Company) and “Maedeh al-Shams” joined hands in a pact as vast as culture itself, aiming to showcase the treasures of Iranian handicrafts on a global stage. With a visionary approach, they turned their gaze towards universities and academic institutions both within and beyond borders—building a bridge between artistic heritage and scholarly depth.
The first step of this cultural pact unfolded on the shores of the ever-artistic Gulf:
The prestigious Sultan Qaboos University in Oman and the renowned Faculty of Art Education became the opening chapter of this collaboration. On a winter day, as the gentle breeze of Muscat’s coast blended with the rhythm of the waves, we arrived at the office of the esteemed Dr. Badr Al-Ma’amari, the wise dean of the faculty.
A warm and profound conversation flowed within those academic halls—a harmony of two cultures rooted in the shared soil of civilization. Then, under the auspices of this blessed meeting, we witnessed the university’s pottery workshop, where clay became the shared language of artists from both lands, and the spinning pottery wheels heralded future creations.
